Your Intellectual Wellbeing on a Four-Day Workweek

Is it just me or is the endless barrage of tones from various digital devices distracting when focusing on key tasks? Surely this takes a tremendous toll on one’s intellectual wellbeing.

The four-day week pilot results that recently emerged from the mostly US and Ireland trials, have proved quite promising. Reduced levels of stress and fatigue have been reported with none of the participating companies wishing to return to the traditional five-day workweek.

The four-day workweek is credited with a wide range of employee benefits. Employers are now waking up to the reality that a refreshed workforce is not only able to work with acute mental accuracy but can also define smarter ways to get the work done in less time.

Maybe you’ve already figured out how to filter out all the noise from these “productivity tools” or maybe you already have a flexible work schedule in place. Either way, work time reduction has notable benefits and a four-day week is one way to definitively enhance overall intellectual wellbeing.
